Walmart is the world’s largest supercenter, sharing practices and leveraging its supply chain to create economic opportunity around the globe. The Aurora supercenter was one of the first green-built Walmart retail centers ever constructed and was designed to reduce the amount of energy and natural resources needed to operate and maintain the center. It was built in a way that reduced the amount of raw materials needed to construct the facility and allowed for the substitution of renewable materials when appropriate. Today, the building safeguards mission-critical business applications in a highly secure, climate-controlled environment with highly organized data lines and fully generated electrical back-up. RK Mechanical performed all plumbing, piping and sheet metal for the project.
