Hudson’s Bay Centre, located at 1600 Stout Street and situated on the 16th Street Mall, is a distinguished 20-story high building with two levels of heated underground parking. The property houses restaurants, commercial offices, and a fitness center. Groundwater entering the building’s sub-slab drainage system is collected in a vault where it is then discharged to the storm sewer under a CDPHE Long-Term Remediation Permit. New treatment requirements for PFAS, which took effect in 2024, eventuated the need for modifications to the existing groundwater treatment system methods. RK Water developed and installed a compact and cost-effective solution to reduce total PFAS levels below 70 ng/L (or parts-per-trillion) without occupying a single parking space. The ingenuity and expediency delivered by RK Water’s team culminated in significant cost savings and unblemished state compliance for Cushman & Wakefield. RK Water currently operates the treatment system.
