Originally constructed as an office and hotel space in the 1970’s, the 30-story Curtis Hotel was converted into a mixed-use building with the 336-room hotel occupying floors 1-16. In addition, the Curtis boasts a 4 level parking garage, grand ballroom, meeting space and two restaurants. RK Mechanical provided the fabrication, transportation and installation of the mechanical components for this downtown renovation. Mechanical scope included the plumbing, piping, sheetmetal and HVAC systems. Off-site prefabrication and just-in-time delivery played a central role in maximizing on-site manpower and minimizing the need for site laydown area.
