This multi-phase cheese and whey facility, located 55 miles northeast of Denver, is among Leprino Food’s largest facilities. The facility was constructed of pre-cast concrete exterior walls and interior elements designed to meet the strict standards of both the USDA and the State of Colorado. Requirements include the use of acid-resistant floor tiles and stainless steel trim, conduits, ducts, and wrapped columns.
RK Mechanical’s scope for this project included the off-site fabrication, delivery, installation, start-up and commissioning of all plant utilities systems, including: stainless steel piping, equipment and duct distribution within the manufacturing spaces for milk receiving, cream storage, PWE, HTSD, RO, whey drying and separation. A new central utility plant, completely fit up for four (4) 1200hp marine boilers and all associated STM, COND, CHW, CTW, CA and RO, chemical treatment piping systems, two (2) 200,000 stainless steel storage tanks and associated piping, a completely modular utilidor-utility distribution system utilizing off-site prefabricated skid/racked systems and all plumbing and HVAC components. The scope of work also included start-up and commissioning of all plant utilities systems.
