This project consisted of a renovation to the existing Foothills Mall originally constructed in 1972. Over 600,000 square feet has been completely re-imagined as a shopping, dining and entertainment venue, featuring pedestrian and car-friendly streets flanked by shops, restaurants and community spaces. Several new retail facilities were constructed along with the new Grand Court. The existing structure’s main entrance was also renovated by adding height to the structure to provide an open look and feel.

The Beck Group hired RK Steel as part of the project team to fabricate and erect both the structural steel and miscellaneous steel components throughout the facility. RK Steel’s in-house, end-to-end management of the design, fabrication, detailing and installation helped to streamline this project.

Foothills Cinemark Theater: RK Steel handled the structural work that included the entire roof structure, auditorium steel for the theater seating, exposed steel in the main entry, as well as canopy and mezzanine steel. RK Steel also fabricated the auditorium’s powder coated rails, lobby rails, ladders, trash gates and more.

Foothills Activity Center: RK Steel erected this three-story structural steel building that serves as a recreation center for the community. RK Steel also fabricated two stair cores and plenty of rails in this facility owned by the City of Fort Collins.

Foothills Parking Structure: This building, which is also owned by the City of Fort Collins, consists of a five-story pre-cast structure. RK Steel built four stair towers and fabricated rails and canopies
