Anschutz Healthcare
The Colorado Center for Personalized Medicine and Behavioral Health is an approximately 390,000-square-foot, eight-story research facility on the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora, Colorado. The building is connected to the existing Research Complex 2 (RC2) through a second-floor pedestrian bridge and includes a partial basement designed as shell space for a future vivarium. Two below-grade tunnels connect the future vivarium to the existing RC2 vivarium, supporting long-term campus expansion.
RK Steel completed the project’s structural steel and miscellaneous metals scope, including fabrication and installation of two 35,000-pound roof trusses spanning the central atrium. The team also installed 60-foot tube steel purlins supporting two large skylights, a perimeter catwalk that supports the curtain wall glazing system, multiple feature staircases within the atrium, all egress stairs and railings, elevator support steel, and ornamental metalwork throughout the facility.
