December, 2010 – RK announced that certifying agency, Platinum Registration, officially recognized the Denver-based mechanical contractor with ISO 9001:2008 accreditation. This milestone caps the more than two-year period RK Mechanical devoted to preparing for the formal audit. This company-wide effort was led by the Corporate QMS Manager, Ian Welsh, Divisional Vice President Performance Building Services and Dave Albertson, Vice President Operations. “Our entire organization has bought into the ISO process and for that, we are a better Company,” said RK President and C.E.O. Rick Kinning.
ISO 9001:2008 is universally recognized as a world-class Quality Management Systems (QMS) standard, only awarded to the most elite organizations. Monday’s announcement makes RK one of the first contractors in the region to bear the highly sought after accreditation – a real testament to the company’s commitment to remaining an industry leader through progression, innovation and customer service. The ISO standard means that every RK customer can expect a predictable outcome achieved according to a tested, standardized process with built-in accountability and corporate oversight. According to RK’s Corporate QMS Manager, “Our general contractor clients and colleagues have noticed an improvement and greater consistency in our quality.”
