For the Cooling Distribution Unit and Piping Skid, we developed water-cooled pump skids for a datacenter based in California. This project involved crafting engineered structural steel, assembly and electrical wiring/testing in our shop, and using HDPE piping. We were proud to extend installation support to our valued customer in California.

RK Mechanical played a key role in the development of the Populus Hotel in Downtown Denver—the first carbon-positive hotel in the United States. As the design-assist contractor, we delivered full plumbing and HVAC services, including domestic water systems, sanitary waste and vent systems, HVAC ventilation, and life safety smoke control.

We worked closely with the interior design and architectural teams to ensure all mechanical systems were seamlessly integrated with the building’s high-performance design.

Located adjacent to Civic Center Park, the 14-story, 138,530-square-foot property includes 265 guest rooms, 40 micro-apartments, a ground-floor bike shop/café, flexible meeting and event spaces, glass-encased retail, and a rooftop bar with panoramic city and mountain views. The project also features a garden terrace and the iconic Aspen Eye façade.

To support the hotel’s carbon-positive goals, the building incorporates renewable energy mechanical systems, efficient heat recovery, and a high-performance envelope that reduces energy consumption.

Populus presented unique technical challenges that we were proud to help solve. Through strong collaboration with our trade partners, we implemented innovative solutions that helped bring this visionary development to life.

Our involvement in Populus reflects our commitment to sustainable construction and our proven ability to execute complex, environmentally conscious projects.

Sitting at 40th and Blake, One River North is a 16-story residential building with three floors of underground parking. The building contains 187 residential units with 13,352 square feet of open-air environments including retail space and a lobby on the ground floor. The seventh floor of the building includes a community room, while the ninth floor includes a fitness area. The rooftop has a pool, deck and pet relief area. The most unique feature of the building is its hiking trail, also known as “the canyon,” which is a walkway that winds throughout the structure of the building across four floors, with a waterfall between the eighth and sixth floors. To enhance the canyon and specific to what grows through the eastern plains, living plants and trees will be planted and grow through the facility, visible from the exterior of the building, and supported by an irrigation system.

To build this outdoor landscaped paradise, RK Mechanical was hired as the mechanical and plumbing contractor to provide the additional mechanical and plumbing systems required to support the landscaped patios and planting and gathering areas. In addition, the exterior-focused design significantly reduces the available space for mechanical system coordination, making pre-planning critical for successful sequencing to meet schedules and avoid delays. RK Mechanical is providing full-service mechanical and plumbing scopes for the project.

RK Service worked on the installation of 4600 linear feet of CoRayVac radiant heat system to replace steam boiler heating system for approximately a 200,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility

RK Service provided storm and sanitary plumbing system repair and replacement.

The new Kiewit headquarters in Lone Tree consists of two new office buildings. Combined, the two buildings provide 400,000 sq. ft. of office space with a roof deck gathering space, a full-service café, a full-service coffee shop, a full-service catering/kitchen system and fitness center.

RK Mechanical was involved in the plumbing, HVAC and hydronic system installation of the 252,153 sq. ft., five-story office building.
