April 29, 2019 – RK Electrical’s work on the Coors Field Stadium Lights received top honors from Independent Electrical Contractors Rocky Mountain chapter in the Commercial Construction $500k – $1.5M category, during their Annual Summit Awards dinner on April 11.
RK Electrical disconnected and removed 528 existing 1500-watt metal Halide light fixtures throughout Coors Field and replaced them with 406 900-watt Musco LED fixtures. The new LED lights reduce the overall load, and each light is addressable – meaning, the Colorado Rockies’ staff are able to control each light individually to create different scenes during each baseball game. This unique ability enhances the experience for all baseball fans in attendance. Due to the success of this project, RK Electrical was awarded a 25-year maintenance agreement with Musco Lighting to maintain the new lights.
Tony Cowell, Manager of Engineering for the Rockies said, “Thanks to you and your team the installation of the new LED lights on the towers is complete. Despite high winds and a couple of small glitches, the project was completed safely and a day ahead of schedule. Awesome job!”
“RK Electrical is very proud of this accomplishment. Many thanks to our project team that worked diligently during the Rockies off-season, often times in the snow and cold up on the light racks. The team really pulled together to make this a fantastic, successful project for one of our best customers.” – Rob Cheney, Vice President and General Manager for RK Electrical
