The farming and ranching community in eastern Colorado received a Building Excellent Schools Today grant to replace their outdated school facility. The resulting replacement building is a cutting-edge facility. The project included construction of a new pre-kindergarten through 12th grade school with an expansive entry, administrative offices, art room, primary education wing, middle/high school wing, media and computer lab, music stage and receiving area. The project also included renovation of a 1995 gym and re-purposing adjacent spaces (approximately 14,000 sq. ft.). Site improvements consisted of a new parking lot with a dedicated bus loop, walkways and landscape enhancements.
RK was responsible for all mechanical systems, including plumbing, piping and HVAC. We provided cost reduction options and constructability advice to complete the design and construction of the new school, including boilers, pumps, air separators and a ground source heating and cooling system.
